Closure of Lifeline MinistriesIt is with profound regret that I write to you on behalf of the trustees of Lifeline Evangelical Ministries to advise you that it has been decided to close the charity. At a trustees meeting held on 15th March 2012, Terry explained that after much prayer and consideration, that due to his continuous deteriorating health, he should resign as a trustee from Lifeline. He had said that he felt that he wanted to finish with dignity and integrity and not for the work to merely peter out. The rest of the trustees recognised that this was the third time that Terry had expressed his desire to step down from his Lifeline responsibilities. On previous occasions, due to the stature, commitment, abilities and Godliness of Terry in the eyes of the rest of the trustees, they had always managed to persuade him to carry on. However, on this occasion, the other trustees felt that there should be no further pressure placed on Terry to continue. The trustees therefore accepted Terry’s resignation. At this time Terry stated that he felt that Lifeline should be wound up. The rest of the trustees felt that as Terry was no longer a part of the charity that they were unable to continue. In 2004, this charity was formed and adopted the name of Lifeline, the name which Terry had previously used as part of his ministry. Now, the prime objective of Lifeline was to raise funds to allow Terry to continue his evangelistic and teaching ministry both at home and abroad in India, Belarus, Ukraine, Russia and Malawi. However, due to failing health, this objective was never fully realised and Lifeline became merely a channel through which the funds which we received were then distributed to individuals and organisations with a similar evangelical ethos to that of Terry. |
